SparkLore vs Squibler: What's Different (2026)

SquiblerAn 'agentic' editor that generates a whole book or screenplay from one brief. 97.8% of its traffic is organic search.

SparkLoreThe AI writing studio that gets your novel, web serial and screenplay finished. The story bible remembers, episodes hit their length, and prose converts to script.

If the goal is a full draft from a brief as fast as possible, Squibler is fast. The volume of complaints about prose quality, data loss and billing makes it hard to recommend for writers who will live in a manuscript for months. SparkLore focuses on the finish-the-book editing workflow and publishes its credit rate.

Squibler

Strengths

  • Generates an outline and up to 300 pages from a single brief
  • Screenplay generation, collaboration invites, image generation
  • A free physical copy of your first book (pricing page)
  • Free story-generator pages usable without signup

Weaknesses

  • Trustpilot 2.3/5 (64% one-star) — auto-renewal, refused refunds, 'the only way to contact them is Discord'
  • The free 1,000 credits are described as monthly on one page and one-time on another
  • Reports of losing half a manuscript in an update, prompts 'loading' for hours, and 'so many clichés in one paragraph'
  • No Fountain or FDX export; export became paid in June 2026; no mobile app; no series feature

SparkLore

Strengths

  • The story bible is injected into every generation and flags character and setting conflicts across long series
  • Web-novel episode mode — the editor knows per-platform length targets and where to cut
  • Novel → Korean drama script (S#) or US screenplay conversion, with Fountain, FDX, DOCX, EPUB and HWP-compatible export
  • KRW and USD pricing, Korean and English UI, and a published words-per-credit rate
  • A no-training-on-manuscripts commitment written into the terms

Weaknesses

  • Launched in 2026 — the community and review footprint are still small
  • No native mobile app, offline mode or real-time collaboration yet
  • No bring-your-own-key and no proprietary fine-tuned model
  • Few plugins and third-party integrations

FAQ

Does Squibler's free plan renew monthly?

The pricing page says '1,000 AI credits/month' while the knowledge center says 'until you exhaust the 1,000 trial credits'. Reviews complain it 'works for free once and then never again'. Check before you rely on it.

Can I export a screenplay from Squibler?

Screenplay generation with 'industry-standard formatting' exists, but we found no Fountain or FDX export. Export is PDF/DOCX and has been a paid feature since 30 June 2026.

Is my manuscript safe in Squibler?

An April 2026 Trustpilot review reports losing half a manuscript with chapters out of order after a platform update. Version history is available on paid plans only.
